Crochet Spring Picnic Basket
This adorable little Crochet Spring Picnic Basket uses the new stitch pattern I recently posted except I had to rework the stitch to be worked in the round.
Originally a friend of mine told me the stitch looked like a basket of flowers only I read it as I should make a basket for flowers and the idea for this basket popped into my head. I’ve taken some pictures to help with the harder parts of the pattern to help you make your very own basket. They are included in the post below.

Hook: US I9/5.50mm
Yarn: Caron Simply Soft in 2 colours & Bernat Dipity Dots (discontinued)
(MC – Background, AC1 – Brown, AC2 – Dipity Dots)
Special Stitches:
- shell – 3 hdc in same st
- dc-cl – yo, insert hook into shell beg hdc, yo draw up through 2 loops on hook (2 loops on hook), yo, insert hook into next hdc, yo, draw through 2 loops on hook (3 loops on hook), yo, insert hook into next hdc, yo, draw through 2 loops on hook (4 loops on hook), yo, insert hook into next ch1, yo, draw through 2 loops on hook (5 loops on hook), yo, draw through all loops on hook.
Gauge: 7 hdc x 6 rows = 2 inch square.
Notes: Carry up MC through the piece.
