Crochet Pot of Gold
Follow the rainbow and you might just find a Crochet Pot of Gold. This adorable little basket is perfect for little ones. Fill it with some lucky 4 leaf clovers or how about making a lucky shamrock crown. The perfect St. Patrick’s Day crochet.
This crochet project is a great way to use up some of the scrap yarn you have around the house. Using very little yarn, it works up quick and easy.

Yarn: Caron Simply Soft Yarn or any other worsted weight yarn. You will need approximately 1.5 oz/100 yards of black, and scraps in Yellow, Orange, Red, Purple, Blue & Green. You will need more yellow than the other colours to work the gold coins in the cauldron.
Hook: US H8/5.00mm & US G6/4.00mm
Special Stitches:
- hdc-dec = yo insert hook into next st, yo, pull up a loop (3 loops on hook), yo, insert hook into next st, yo, pull up a loop, yo, pull up through all 5 loops on hook.
- tr = triple crochet
Gauge: 7 hdc x 7 rows = 2 inches (Gauge was taken using Caron Simply Soft with a H8/5.00mm hook)
Notes:
- Do not join rounds, unless otherwise specified.
- Use a stitch marker in 1st st of each rnd to keep count.
- If you’re not a fan of using the magic ring, this basket can be started with Ch 2, 8 hdc in beg ch, then continue on to the 2nd round.
