Never Ending Granny Square
I was recently working on a Garden Romp when working on Part 11 I thought, hey, I bet I can turn this stitch pattern into a never ending square. I know I have 2 afghans on the go but I have had an itch to design because it’s been so long.
Shown below is Part 11 of my Garden Romp..
My first attempt was rectangle! but wasn’t long before I got it figured out. I made a chart, filmed a tutorial then wrote out the pattern and had it tested.
I’ve included the first 5 rounds which works up a 6 inch square. You can continue repeating in the same manner as the last 2 rounds to make this square as big as you’d like. I’ve been working up one ball to see how big it gets and at first it looks like it’s working up wavy but as you go you can still flatten and block it out into a square.
This Never Ending Granny Square looks so pretty with Red Hearts new stripes yarn and I’m sure the new ombrés would look amazing too!!

Add a flower edging to your square by adding part 12 and part 13 of my Garden Romp.
I just love your patterns and am currently working on the girly Afghan, but I notice when you fasten off it looks so clean. How are you fastening off? How do you weave in your ends? I have learned one thing from your video tutorials, and that is your standing sc or dc without a knot.
Please respond
I think it depends on the piece, sometimes I will sew them in but they can be hard to hide depending on the stitch work.
To be honest these large afghans are only one sided I bring the tail through to the back in the stitch I joined in then tie and knot in the back with the beginning tail and cut them, nothing fancy. If they are too far apart and it’s a single strand I will weave/knot them in with a yarn needle.
I’m not worried about the backside, they haven’t come through the front and can always hide the back with a material.
