This week we will be working up berries or are they grapes? They are definitely fruity with a fun flower in the corner.

We will be working with layering. I have not figured out how to carry up the yarn for these colours except the MC (Master Colour) which is my light grey, the 2 other colours I’ve twisted up and had to fasten off. The directions to carry up MC are include.

A note about part 1, I have updated pictures for Round 5 and 6.

Sorry it took a little longer than I expected to get this part released. You see, I have been drawing charts on the images and I came to the berry tops done in green this sections and wasn’t exactly sure how to draw a chart. I have tried my best. Getting started on our Girly Afghan CAL Afghan Part 2 ..

Rnd 8: with MC work a standing dc in a corner ch1 sp, ch 1, dc in same ch1 sp, bpdc in next 95 sts, *dc in ch1 sp, ch 1, dc in same ch1 sp, bpdc in next 95 sts, rep from * around, join with sl st to beg dc. (Total: 388 dc, 4 ch. Per Side: 97 dc, 1 ch)

**Put a stitch marker in MC for it to be picked back up in Rnd 10. Make sure to bring MC to front of work before working Rnd 9.**

Rnd 9: Insert hook into 4th st to left of a ch1 sp drawing up AC2, ch 1, 4-dc-cl in same st, *(ch 3, sk 2 dc, 4-dc-cl in next dc) 30 times, ch 8, 4-dc-cl in 4th dc to left of next ch2 sp, rep from * 2 more times (omit last 4-dc-cl on last rep), join with sl st to beg dc-cl, fasten off AC2. (Total: 124 4-dc-cl, 120 ch3, 4 ch8. Per side: 31 4-dc-cl, 30 ch3, 1 ch8)

NOTE: For Rounds 10 & 13 I have listed to work a TR-CL, after working part 4 of Sophie’s Universe I realized my tr-cl are worked differently, please see special stitches section for how to work the tr-cl for the next two MC rounds.

Rnd 10: insert hook back into MC (stitches for this round are worked in sk st from rnd 8 unless otherwise specified), ch 3 (counts as beg dc), *v-st in ch1 sp, dc in next dc, tr-cl in next 2 dc, (ch 1, sc in next ch3 sp from rnd 9, tr-cl in next 2 dc) 31 times, dc in next dc, rep from * 2 more times (omit last dc on last rep), join with sl st to beg dc. (Total: 128 tr-cl, 124 sc, 8 dc, 7 v-st, 124 ch. Per side: 32 tr-cl, 31 sc, 2 dc, 1 v-st, 31 ch)

**Put a stitch marker in MC for it to be picked back up in Rnd 13. Push it to the back before working Rnd 11.**

Rnd 11: (work stitches only in rnd 9, make sure to push rnd 10 out of the way) insert hook into ch8 sp to the right of a 4-dc-cl, with AC4 draw up a loop, *insert hook between 1st and 2nd cluster of 4-dc-cl, yo, draw up a loop, insert hook between 2nd and 3rd cluster of 4-dc-cl, yo draw up a loop, insert hook between 3rd and 4th cluster of 4-dc-cl, yo, draw up a loop, insert hook into next ch3 sp, yo, draw up a loop, yo, draw through all 6 loops on hook, (ch 3, insert hook into ch3 sp to right of next 4-dc-cl, yo, draw up a loop, insert hook between 1st and 2nd cluster of 4-dc-cl, yo, draw up a loop, insert hook between 2nd and 3rd cluster of 4-dc-cl, yo draw up a loop, insert hook between 3rd and 4th cluster of 4-dc-cl, yo, draw up a loop, insert hook into next ch3 sp, yo, draw up a loop, yo, draw through all 6 loops on hook) 30 times (on last rep the last sl st will be worked in the ch8 sp), ch 3, puff in ch1 sp from rnd 8, ch 1, puff in same ch1 sp, ch 3, insert hook into ch8 sp before 4-dc-cl draw up a loop, rep from * 3 more times (omit last slst on last rep), join with sl st to beg berry top, fasten off AC4. (Total: 124 berry tops, 128 ch3, 8 puff, 4 ch. Per Side: 31 berry tops, 32 ch3, 2 puff, 1 ch)

**Bring MC to front fo work before working Rnd 12!!**

Rnd 12: insert hook into ch3 sp to left of a puff drawing up AC2, ch 1, 4-dc-cl in same ch3 sp, *(ch 3, 4-dc-cl in next ch3 sp) 31 times, ch5, 8 dc in ch1 sp, draw up a 1” loop and remove hook, insert hook into beg dc and back into working loop, draw up a loop, ch 5, 4-dc-cl in next ch3 sp, rep from * around (omit last 4-dc-cl on last rep), join with sl st to beg dc-cl, fasten off AC2. (Total: 128 4-dc-cl, 124 ch3, 8 ch5, 4 8-dc-pop. Per Side: 32 4-dc-cl, 31 ch3, 2 ch 5, 1 8-dc-pop)

Rnd 13: (work in stitches from rnd 10 between Rnd 11 and 12, pull rnd 11 forward and push rnd 12 to the back) insert hook back into MC, ch 1, yo, insert hook into next dc, yo, draw up a loop, yo, draw through 2 loops on hook, yo, draw through 2 loops on hook, ch 1 (1st tr-cl made), *sc-vst in top of 8-dc-pop, sc in ch5 sp from rnd 12, tr-cl in next 2 dc, (ch 1, sc in next ch3 sp from rnd 12, tr-cl in ch1 sp) 31 times, ch 1, sc in next ch5 sp from rnd 12, tr-cl in next 2 dc, rep from * around (omit last tr-cl on last rep), join with sl st to beg tr-cl.
(Total: 132 tr-cl, 132 ch1, 140 sc. Per Side: 33 tr-cl, 33 ch1, 35 sc)

**Put a stitch marker in MC for it to be picked back up in Rnd 15. Make sure to bring MC to front of work before working Rnd 14.**

Rnd 14: with AC4 work a standing dc in ch1 corner sp from rnd 10 (This stitch will be hidden in behind rnds 11-13), *ch 5, insert hook into ch5 sp to right of 4-dc-cl, draw up a loop, insert hook between 1st and 2nd cluster of 4-dc-cl, yo, draw up a loop, insert hook between 2nd and 3rd cluster of 4-dc-cl, yo draw up a loop, insert hook between 3rd and 4th cluster of 4-dc-cl, yo, draw up a loop, insert hook into next ch3 sp, yo, draw up a loop, yo, draw through all 6 loops on hook, (ch 3, insert hook into ch3 sp to right of next 4-dc-cl, yo, draw up a loop, insert hook between 1st and 2nd cluster of 4-dc-cl, yo, draw up a loop, insert hook between 2nd and 3rd cluster of 4-dc-cl, yo draw up a loop, insert hook between 3rd and 4th cluster of 4-dc-cl, yo, draw up a loop, insert hook into next ch3 sp, yo, draw up a loop, yo, draw through all 6 loops on hook) 31 times, ch 5, dc in corner ch1 sp from rnd 10, rep from * 3 more times (omit last dc on last rep), sl st to beg dc, fasten off AC4.

Rnd 15: insert hook back into MC (stitches for this round are worked in rnd 13 making sure to push rnd 14 to the back out of the way), ch 1, 2 sc in same tr-cl as beg ch1, *2 sc in next sc, sc-vst in ch1 sp, sc in next 2 sc, 3 sc in next 33 tr-cl, rep from * around (on last rep omit last 3 sc in tr-cl), sc in next tr-cl (same tr-cl as beg 2 sc), join with sl st to beg sc.
(Total: 156 sc, 4 ch. Per Side: 39 sc, 1 ch)

Rnd 16: ch 2 (counts as beg hdc), hdc in next 4 sc, *hdc-vst in ch1 sp, hdc in next 105 sc, rep from * 2 more times (on last rep omit 5 hdc in sc), join with sl st to beg hdc, Fasten off MC.
(Total: 428 hdc, 4 ch. Per Side: 107 hdc, 1 ch)
