Crochet Newsboy Ribbed Baby Beanie
Crochet Newsboy Ribbed Baby Beanie was originally going to be a cactus tea cozy. I started working top down and didn’t like the looks of it on my tea cozy. Instead of frogging my work and losing what I had done I continued on with the intent of turning it into a Crochet Newsboy Ribbed Baby Beanie.
This Crochet Newsboy Ribbed Baby Beanie would be great for both boys or girls depending on the colour of yarn you choose to use, for a little girl you could add a beautiful flower.
There is now an adult size Crochet Newsboy Ribbed Beanie pattern available HERE.

C’est tres beau bravo bonne journee Marie-Claire
My daughter wants me to crochet this for her, but the pattern is for a baby 0-6 months. I am so bad with math, I could NEVER figure out hot to increase it for a 12 year old. 🙁
I only have the one sizing at this time, to figure out another size I’d have to rework the entire pattern. You could use the pattern from my watermelon beanie and finish it off with a brim.
Love it , its super cute!
Oh I love this will post a pic as soon as complete. Nice.
This is my favourite pattern here! Love it. Will make one for my friends new little son.
I am so excited to try this I have been searching for one for my 3yr old. I have been studying the pattern and I think I have figured out how to make it fit her head..but then she is petite. I’ll post pictures once it is done. Hope it turns out great! Thanks so much!!
I am so anxious to make this hat! I have a new grandson on the way, due in Jan and have been looking for the perfect hat for him and I think this is it! Thanks so much for sharing! i will be sure to post the finished beanie.
In Round 7, do you mean 5.5″ diameter, or 5.5″ radius from the starting round?
Measure from the beginning of your work (The crown) down. There is an example how to measure HERE.
Thanks!
I love this hat but I’ve no idea how to make this fit for a 7 1/2 month old and a 2 1/2 year old. Ideally I’d like them to have the hats for as long as they fit.
It’s a one size only. Not sure off hand how this one was made but probably just needs another round of increases to make it larger.
I was wondering if there are any restrictions for selling this hat? I would like to put on our local online swap shop. If I give you credit for the pattern and give website, would this be permissible? I’ve made them as gifts and they turn out beautiful! Thank you for sharing.
You’re free to sell your finished goods. Letting people know where to find the pattern is greatly appreciated. ^_^
