Crochet Kitty Cat Wigs
Crochet Kitty Cat Wigs started as a joke in the house.. Someone suggested I make a wig for my cats. Since I’ve never subjected my cat to any of my crochet fun I figured it was due time.
At first I made the Crochet Kitty Cat Wig in fun fur and the cat didn’t mind it so I thought I’d try for something bigger like a Crochet Kitty Cat Wig with yarn but the cat didn’t like it.
Here are the 2 Crochet Kitty Cat Wig patterns that I worked up. Can’t wait to see more cat’s in hats!

Crochet Kitty Cat Wig Fun Fur Wig..
Hook: US I9/5.50mm
Yarn: 25g of Schachenmayr Nomotta Brazilia Colour (You can substitute for a 25g of Eyelash Yarn)
Supplies:
- 1 button approximately .5″ diameter.
- Needle & Thread
Gauge: 3 sc x 3 rows = 1 inch square.
Notes:
- Use a stitch marker in your beg st if you lose count easily when crocheting.
- Count each stitch to keep track of where you are. It’s very easy to get lost if you don’t keep count.
Crochet Kitty Cat Wig Yarn Wig..
Hook: US H8/5.00mm
Yarn: #4 worsted weight yarn. (I used Red Heart Comfort Yarn)
(Click links above to purchase from Joanns, a commission of the sale will be used to keep patterns free on this blog, free patterns = more $$ for yarn.)
Supplies:
- 1 button approximately .5″ diameter.
- Needle & Thread
- Latch Hook
Gauge: 3 sc x 3 rows = 1 inch square.
Special Stitches:
- At the beg of your rows you will notice (bl) or (fl), for the rows that have (bl) you will work in the back loops only and for the rows with (fl) you will work in the front loops only. If neither are listed work in both loops.
Adding Hair..
Using a piece of cardboard, cut a 4″ square. Gently wrap yarn around the block of cardboard as to not make it bend. Cut along one edge of the yarn to make your 8″ strips. Use a latch hook to add hair.
If you look at your piece you will notice that you’ve got one side with ridges and one without. The beginning of your work is where you will sew on your button and the other side has the button hole in it. When adding hair start working in the 3rd ridge in on the button side adding 4 strands to each loop on the outside of the piece. Do NOT work in the last ridge of loops before the button hole. Then start 4 strands center of your work, I did this by adding 1 in the center, then the next ridge I added 2 spaced evenly alternating between 1 and 2 tuffs. Any more than this will make the wig too full. Maybe that is why my cat didn’t like it.
