I have listed this pattern as an Expert pattern only because in my crochet resources page I have listed picot stitches under the expert section but by no means do you have to be an expert to work up this pattern.

Size: Newborn 0-3 Months

Yarn: #2 Yarn pictured is Ice Yarns – Magic Baby (Magic baby yarn is similar to Bernat Softee Baby Yarn)

Hook:

• US G6/4.25mm
• US G6/4.00mm

Special Stitches:

• v-st – (dc, ch 3, dc) in same space.
• ch up2– Chain Up, when you are at the end of your row, turn work, insert hook into first st, draw up a loop you now have 2 loops on your hook, yarn over, draw up a loop through both loops on hook, insert hook into stitch just made, yarn over and draw up a loop. Adding braided ties..

Cut 24 strips of yarn 20” long for each side. (Total of 48 strips) Braid in ties in the ch3 sps made on row 20. For a tutorial on how to add braids click HERE.
