Slouchy Hat – Crochet
The teen requested a slouchy hat. I have yet to crochet something for my teen. I’ve knitted her hats and scarves for her in the past but now, as a teenager, she’s just too cool in the dead of winter to wear winter clothing so I was hoping that if she could pick out some yarn and she could request what kind of hat because that way she might actually wear it.
She picked out some yarn right away and as we kept looking, I came across a really good deal on some Lion Brand Homespun. She got rid of the other yarn and picked out the colour Wisteria. (I got a few more balls of the same colour to make another project..)
Here’s my beautiful daughter wearing her slouchy hat.
She likes it and here’s hoping that she doesn’t lose it…

is a quick and easy pattern to work up, this is a great beginners project.

Gauge:
6 dc = 3 inches
Notes:
Beginning ch 3 counts as a stitch, join each rnd in 3rd ch of beg ch3.
The Teens Crochet Slouchy Hat Pattern..
Starting with a magic ring, ch 3, 11 dc in the ring, join. (12 dc)
Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in same st as beg ch3, 2 dc in each dc around. (22 dc)
Rnd 3: Ch 3, dc in same st as beg ch3, *dc in nxt dc, 2 dc in nxt dc* around. (34 dc)
Rnd 4: Ch 3, dc in same st as beg ch3, *dc in each dc* around. (35 dc)
Rnd 5: Ch 3, dc in each dc around. (35 dc)
Rnd 6-12: Rep rnd 5.
Rnd 13-18: Ch 1, sc in each dc around, on last round join with invisible join. (3 sts)

I don’t have a measurement of the teens head at the moment but it was just a little snug on my head (22.5″). You could rep rnd 4 once more and one less rnd like rnd 5.
