I used Bernat Sox yarn to make these mittens, they are the perfect size for toddlers aged 12 months to 3 years.

Crochet Pattern Difficulty Rating - Advanced Beginner

Hook: US D3/3.25mm

Yarn: Bernat Sox

Size:

Small: 12 months – 3 years

Gauge: 5 esc x 4 rows = 1 inch square

Special Stitches: 

  • Esc (extended single crochet): Insert hook into next st, yo and draw up a loop, yo and draw through 1 loop, yo and draw through last 2 loops.
  • Esc2tog (extended single crochet decrease): Insert hook under front loop only of next 2 sts, yo and draw a loop through both sts, yo and draw through 1 loop, yo and draw through last 2 loops.
  • FpEsc (front post extended single crochet): Insert hook under the front post of previous stitch and work an esc.

Notes: Do NOT join rnds unless otherwise specified.

    Do not understand what is meant by “Rnd 4-13 : …..mark off 5 sts evenly along the mittens fold as shown below.” What fold, and where is it shown below? There is no diagram to indicate where the fold is. Can you help or have I just made half a mitten for nothing?

      Above in the post there’s a pict of a mitten worked up half way and folded so it’s laying flat with the hook still in the piece. Mark off the 5 stitches where it folds.
