Fridge Magnets – Make Your Own

August 9, 2013 By: DearestDebi3 Comments

Your favorite brands under one roof: Patons, Bernat, Caron, Lily Sugarβ€˜n Cream, Phentex, and now Red Heart! New and innovative yarn is added all the time.

Fridge Magnets – Make Your Own

Fridge Magnets – Make Your Own, it’s just a matter of finding some of the supplies most of which can be picked up from your local Dollar Store. I found a big bag of the flat back marbles at a Dollarama, they also have hot glue gun glue, the magnets and some awesome stickers.

To make your own fridge magnets you will need the following items..

  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Glue Stick
  • Scissors
  • Round Magnets
  • Images
  • Clear Flat Marbles

The best places to find images that will work for your fridge magnets are stickers, comic books or even magazines or some old photos of friends. You could even doodle Tokidoki style or draw your own images. If you don’t have anything around to use, print off some pictures.

I went to look in my treasure chest of stickers and I chose The Nightmare Before Christmas stickers.

Use your GLUE STICK to add glue on the stickers image, then press the flat surface of the marble onto your image for 10 sec. Let them sit for 10 minutes.

Use your HOT GLUE GUN to glue on the magnets… and voila!

Fridge Magnets!!

They all turned out ok except oogie boogie, the way the sticker was placed he just looks like a blob, his face is hard to see but that’s partially because the marbles I got are not completely clear, they have a bit of frosting to them. Try to find the clearest marbles possible.

We’ve been building up a collection of fridge magnets, some have gone to friends.

I use modge podge of mine instead of hot glue so it doesn’t blur the image! Just an idea??

You could put that over the image but not sure how well it would stick to the rock itself? Worth a try.
