Crochet Sweet Hearts
Crochet Sweet Hearts was a bag I started in hopes to use my tunisian roses, I’ve been trying to think of ideas to work up with the stitch. I was browsing around Pinterest through my crochet charts and stitches board and found this pin for these beautiful crochet hearts. I figured out the math to be able to work a row of hearts followed by a row of tunisian roses but as I got working away I just kept going with the hearts.
I didn’t add the roses because I wanted to keep this pattern free and because the roses would need to be worked in the round it would be a learning experience for me and would be rather time consuming to put a tutorial together for it, so I will leave the tunisian roses in the round for another day.
The original tutorial I found for this stitch is in Dutch and can be translated to english. There were some parts of the translation that I wasn’t sure how to interpret so I tried a few things of my own until I made it work. I ended up finding a link to an afghan pattern that uses the crochet sweet hearts available HERE.
When working in rows this pattern is worked in multiples of 7 + 8 and when you are working the pattern in the round you will work in multiples of 7.
