Crochet Ruffle Lined Purse
Crochet Ruffle Lined Purse can be a toddler skirt or a purse!I recently made a toddler ruffle skirt pattern with sashay and many people asked me if I could make a version that could be turned into a purse. My original skirt pattern is available HERE.
When I made the other skirt pattern I included a written and photo tutorial how to do the ruffles. The ruffles for this Crochet Ruffle Lined Purse are worked the same.
You will need a small piece of material to line the inside of the purse.

Ruffles..
I have a photo tutorial on adding ruffles HERE. The ruffles are worked exactly the same, make sure you work ruffles around the last row of ch1 spaces (Same spaces that rnd 13 was worked in) and you will want to work ruffles in the sc’s from row 13’s. To finish off your ruffles I use sewing thread to tie a knot through the last stitch and through the edge of the ruffle yarn, I also did this to the beg of the ruffle yarn so you don’t end up with an unfinished edge of ruffle yarn hanging down.
Handle..
For a hand bag, Ch 43, sc in 2nd ch from hook, *dc in next ch, sc in next ch, rep from * across, (dc, sc, dc) in last ch, now you can start working along the other side of the ch, cont working sc, dc, across working an sc and dc in the last ch which has the beg sc, sl st to beg sc, fasten off and weave in ends. Sew on to bag.
For an over the shoulder bag, Ch 85, sc in 2nd ch from hook, *dc in next ch, sc in next ch, rep from * across, (dc, sc, dc) in last ch, now you can start working along the other side of the ch, cont working sc, dc, across working an sc and dc in the last ch which has the beg sc, sl st to beg sc, fasten off and weave in ends. Sew on to bag.
Lining..
You will need your piece of 13″ x 11.5″ material, fold 13″ length in half. With right side of your material together, fold down the top edges about 1/4″ and iron your piece as shown below.
You are going to first sew along your folded down edge on both side. Then sew along the seams 1/4″ from the edge. Normally I would use my serger to finish off the edges but it needs to be serviced so I just did a zigzag stitch near the edge to reinforce the material a little bit. As you can see, I didn’t get my bag 100% straight but that won’t matter once it’s sewn into the bag.
Now to attach the lining, turn both your material piece and crochet piece inside out placing the crochet bag inside the material piece as shown below.
You want to make sure that the edge of the liner is below the ch1 holes as shown above. I used a need and thread to sew the edge of the liner to the bag as shown below.
When you are done you can weave your ribbon through your ch1 spaces and tie a bow to finish off.
