Crochet Lazy Shell Scarf Shawl

March 18, 2016 By: DearestDebi1 Comment

Your favorite brands under one roof: Patons, Bernat, Caron, Lily Sugar‘n Cream, Phentex, and now Red Heart! New and innovative yarn is added all the time.

Crochet Lazy Shell Scarf Shawl

Last week I posted my Crochet Lazy Shawl Sweater Shrug. I got the idea for this Crochet Lazy Shell Scarf Shawl when I was thinking what I could make with some new summer sale yarn I picked up recently. After trying to work with the yarn I found it didn’t work up nice at all with this lazy shell stitch. So I went digging in my stash to see what I had. I found some Joy Angora Glitz which worked up lovely.

This yarn works up very similar to Red Heart Unforgettable, the fibers kind of fuze together making it almost near impossible to frog (rip out).  As I was about half way through my ball I notice that my edges were puckering. My piece with one ball measures approximately 48 inches wide by about 16 inches tall, but my measurements are not true to the pattern since I made a change to account for the puckering.

This is the trial and error of designing, once I found what worked best I wrote it out and had the pattern tested twice. Once you get the foundation of the piece made, there’s 2 lines of work that are repeated, this piece can be made to the size that YOU want. The yarn I used is sold in bulk so you could make some scarves to sell at craft fairs or a really large shawl with all 4 balls. Can’t wait to see what you hook up.
