Crochet Flower Lattice Curtain Valance
Crochet Flower Lattice Curtain Valance is an adaptation of the crochet flower lattice. I worked up the same pattern but on my finishing row I added loops to hang the piece from my curtain rod in my kitchen (see pattern notes below). I wanted my valance to have a height of 22″ and a width of 80″. I’d never really paid attention to the drape of the flower lattice and it wasn’t until I was half way through the piece that I realized it made a difference.
Flower Lattice Drape..
When working the Crochet Flower Lattice Curtain Valance you want to work the width of the window as the length you will work up the first row of work. This will provide an optimal drape for your valance.
Note: When I started my Crochet Flower Lattice Curtain Valance I started by working up the height. When I was about halfway through I noticed the drape of the flower lattice hung much nicer had I worked with the width for my beginning row. At that point I was already too far along to bother frogging my work.

Hook: H8/5.00mm
Yarn: For my 22″ x 80″ valance I used 5 skeins (393 yards) of #2 fine Ice Yarns Magic Baby
Gauge:
For the The Crochet Flower Lattice Curtain Valance gauge is not really important, you can use a variety of yarns with the recommended hook size on the ball band.
Special Stitches:
- When working with the flower lattice you will NOT be turning your work. One row will be worked from left to right, the next row will be worked right to left without turning. You will be looking at the right side of your work throughout the entire piece.
- Each flower has 4 petals, to make it easier to reference I’ve numbered them and these numbers will be used within the pattern, the star on the 3rd petal marks the left joining corner.
- sl st in last dc of next flower is pictured below.
Notes:
Adding more flowers..
The pattern available is for 3 flowers wide, to adjust the amount of flowers just add additional repeats until desired length is acquired.
Adding Curtain Rod Loops..
For the curtain rod loops you will need to add them at the end of your work.
⋅If you started your piece with the width of the window being your beginning row width you will work rod loops on your 2nd last row of work.
⋅If you started your piece with the height of the window being your beginning row width you will work rod loops on your last row of work.
After working the 2 dc in centre of the flower on the 3rd petal (as shown below) I worked a ch 8 and then sl st into the last dc worked, then continue on with the ch3. The ch 8 worked was big enough to fit around my curtain rod, this may be something that needs changing depending on the size of the curtain rod being used.

I tried to download the crochet flower curtain and the pattern for the scarf comes up. Tried a couple of times.

The pattern is the same as the scarf. I believe the instructions to finish it off are in the post above, if you’d like you can paste this page url into printfriendly.com to make a copy of the instructions.

I love this stitch but am completely and utterly baffled. I have followed the you tube video where you do 3 rows of flowers, jump to 6, then turn and continue. I can’t get farther than the 3 rows. Is there ANYWHERE where you have the complete step by step to completing the entire scarf without any assumptions on the part of the crocheter? I would love to make this as a gift.

I offer people information on how to work repeats, not sure if anyone offers a full step by step tutorial.
