Moogly 2015 Afghan Crochet Along
I originally designed my Love Garden Granny Afghan Block for the Moogly 2015 Afghan Crochet Along. I didn’t realize at the time that the block needed to be made with an I9/5.50mm hook so I’ve worked through the pattern with the right sized hook and took pictures of each round to help as you work along.
Note: There’s a video tutorial for the original pattern on YouTube, you can follow along, just make sure to use the correct hook size for the crochet along and the last 2 rounds of the original piece are not included for the crochet along.

Pattern is available for purchase on Ravelry or free to download below, look for the pink download arrow, download options are directly below it.

This tutorial was excellent – clear and lacking fluff! – just how I like them. Thank you!
Only one pattern downloaded – the written pattern. Yet, you said there was a charted version? I prefer charts to written….
The chart pattern is available with the original pattern, look for the 2nd download arrow.. http://dearestdebi.com/love-garden-granny-afghan-block
I have tried to send a link to my email twice, but it never arrives. I could probably follow your pictures If you told me how many stitches are in the first round. I could use some help.
Check your spam folder if you tried the email option.
Thanks, that did it
I’ve tried several times but the link just opens up as a blank page. I am using an iPad.
Use the email option.. I use safari with iBooks on my iPad
That is the link I’m clicking on is in the email.
I just had it work using safari. Check your safari settings that it allows pop ups and cookies are allowed from sites you visit
I give up! Pop up is off cookies are allowed. I open email, click on link (no option to open link in safari) and see a blank page.
I just tested it on 2 iPads and it worked just fine so I was trying to help find out maybe what is causing the problem. I’ll send you an email with the pattern.
Well I tried a different email. Evidently Yahoo doesn’t like to open up links in safari. I tried a hotmail address and poof! I got the PDFs download. 🙂
Thanks. It’s good to know what was going on.
DearestDebi, Was wondering if the popcorn stitch could be changed to just 5 or 3 dc’s. I am making this square for my daughter’s wedding. We plan on setting a candle on it and the popcorn is in the way. 🙁 Think it would work with dcs instead? Thank you!
I think you could make it work but you might want to decrease the chains between the pop stitches to offset the change. Once you’re done the round lay it down flat if it’s wavy there’s too much added work.
Thank you. Will try
3 dc and maybe decrease one or two chains would probably work best.
Thank you, for freely sharing such a lovely pattern with us!! Your square is so unique, it stands alone. Quite honestly, I think I’m going to pass up the other squares in the CAL and use only your to make a Valentines blanket for my granddaughter, instead. Thank you, again. 🙂
You’re welcome. I would love to see if you do. ☺️
