Marys Sparkly Crochet Scarf

I started Marys Sparkly Crochet Scarf last fall as a project to wear to the London Ontario Mary Maxim grand opening. I originally started out with the heart and had the idea to make a triangle shawl but I didn’t have any idea how to go about making the show stopper shawl I was hoping for.

With the grand opening in less than a month I was on a time crunch. I decided maybe it was best to work up a simple scarf, this way it would be something easy to work up for everyone. I got about a foot of work done on the scarf when my show stopper idea hit me like a ton of bricks.

Marys Sparkly Crochet Scarf was frogged faster than it was worked up and turned into my Crochet Love Triangle Shawl. Meanwhile the pattern for the scarf was set aside, it was tested when I first wrote it. I thought that I had lost the pattern until the other day when I was cleaning up my files I came across the pattern. I’m sure there are other scarf patterns similar to this one as it is a basic shell pattern. The difference is this scarf is worked with a heart a the beginning and end. Not exactly a show stopper piece but still pretty enough to share. You could even add a heart fringe to the ends of this scarf by working up some of my large heart appliqués and attaching them on.
