3D Crochet Flower

Your favorite brands under one roof: Patons, Bernat, Caron, Lily Sugar‘n Cream, Phentex, and now Red Heart! New and innovative yarn is added all the time.

3D Crochet Flower

It all began with a 3D Crochet Flower.. back in February of this year I was having a bad day online that I decided to turn it all off for a bit and just crochet. I pulled up a picture of a white cotton crochet thread doily, picked up my hook and yarn and just started crocheting.

I worked up this 3D Crochet Flower and then it blossomed into a collection of Crochet 3D Flower Beanies and Bonnets. There are 7 patterns and 2 in the works that all start with this 3D Crochet Flower.

I have had people testing the patterns for me and the first bunch of testers all figured out the pattern with no problem but the second batch of testers didn’t understand. I worked up a video tutorial on how to work up the 3D Crochet Flower and the written instructions are included below.

Thank you so much! I am trying to learn to crochet flowers to bring the real things’ beauty indoors. The reason being I have become severely debilitated by a chronic illness, and this year I find I can’t even count on being well enough to water my few perennials that have survived this 7 year descent into being nearly bedridden. At least I am not able to see their suffering. I need beauty in this sickroom. I’m too young to be so old physically, and was not prepared for it. I have recently discovered crochet online through a small tablet that was bought for me to improve my quality of life. I never knew there was something besides afghans one could crochet. I have been doing a bit of crochet every other day (must rest in between any physical and cognitive activity, even crochet. Fingers move and brain counts. That’s physical and cognitive, frustratingly as it is. Ended up with right arm in a sling for a week when I first started trying to make flowers because I forgot to prop it up.), and my daughters and my son have requested coasters and flowers. I feel like a mom again! Thanks to people who make your work available online for others to learn from! I am so grateful for the tutorials and written instructions! Can’t read a pattern, but I am trying to make sense of them. Your. 3-D flower fits an idea in my head that I don’t know how to make. My daughter asked for a flower for her hair. Thank you so much for being one of the special people that have made it possible for me to ‘garden’ again. And these don’t wilt. 🙂
