Blocking Crochet
I have worked up my first piece that truly needs to be blocked. I recently published my Crochet Love Triangle Shawl but what I didn’t show you was how it looked before I blocked it. As you can see the piece looks ‘off’.

There are different methods of blocking. For this piece, I stretched my piece out and carefully placed a towel on top and lightly steamed it with my iron.

This was my only option as I do not have the supplies to block. Some of the supplies needed for blocking..
I am planning on picking up some of the foam interlocking exercise mats and some pins. I already have an iron and a toby steamer. Please note that if you are using an iron to always place a towel over your work!
Once you have the necessary supplies you can beginning to work on blocking crochet pieces. Pin your piece in place..

For this love triangle shawl it’s easiest to use a steamer. One of my testers used warm water and sponge as she didn’t have anything to steam with. No matter what way you choose to block your piece the end result will be beautiful.
