Crochet 3D Easy Bonnet – Toddler

July 1, 2013 By: DearestDebi12 Comments

Your favorite brands under one roof: Patons, Bernat, Caron, Lily Sugar‘n Cream, Phentex, and now Red Heart! New and innovative yarn is added all the time.

Crochet 3D Easy Bonnet – Toddler

Crochet 3D Easy Bonnet is part of my crochet 3D collection of flower Beanies and Bonnets.

I worked up this version of Crochet 3D Easy Bonnet because there were some people who could not work up the puff flowers version so I wanted a way for people to still be able to complete their bonnets with or without the puff flowers.

There are video tutorials to help work up the beginning flower and also on how to add braided ties.

Adorable Debi. I especially like the wee flower on the back of the bonnet.

Hi, I am making this hat & I am a little bit confused about rows 15-21. The dc that is done in the first chain 3 space; does it get a v stitch in that very stitch or are you supposed to just leave that working space with the one DC, then start the v stitches in the next chain 3 space? I thought it was just one in that first chain 3 space then I ended the row & I was one v-stitch short. Also; the ends of the rows are beginning to get larger loops; is this supposed to happen? I hope I am doing this right! 🙂 Thanks! Oh, by the way; my flower at the beginning turned out great! I was confused at first but I worked it out. 🙂 Will send you a pic when it is done.

For row 15+ you will be working in rows, not rnds meaning you need to turn your work. When working your rows you start with a ch 6 then dc in the beg ch3 space which will create your first v-st.

I’m pretty new at crocheting, started about a year ago when my twin girls were born…this looks beautiful! I’m determined to make it, I have a few other projects on hand at the moment, but I do love this!!!

The hardest part of the bonnet is the beginning flower and there is a video tutorial for it if you need help 🙂

Only thing I can think of is maybe working it with a worsted weight yarn and maybe an H or I hook. It wouldn’t be a spring/summer hat with worsted weight.

In the recommended yarn I would have to completely rework it.
