Patons Pirouette Crochet Ruffle Scarf
Working with Patons Pirouette, a crochet ruffle scarf.
I was avoiding working with any of these ruffle yarns, had no intentions of ever working with it UNTIL I took my friend to the yarn store and she picked up two balls of Patons Pirouette. For this type of yarn I did not find any crochet patterns, only knit and I am not about to tear the house apart to find knitting needles!
When working with this pirouette yarn, on the ball it looks like one really thick strand of yarn until you take it off and open it up to find a mesh like pattern. The spaces below marked with blue stars will be your working spaces where you will work your stitches.
I came across this youtube tutorial of how to crochet a sashay ruffle scarf and started working up a scarf just as shown in the video, starting with a ch 6 with a US K10/6.50mm. By the time I was finished working up the first ball of pattern I knew I wasn’t going to have a long enough scarf with only 2 balls of yarn, it would only work with a 3rd ball. (If you would like to work with 3 balls, I would suggest working 5 sts, and you will end up with approximately a scarf that is 60-70 inches) At 8$ a ball of yarn, I frogged the scarf and started over with the following…
DIFFICULTY RATING
COMPETENT
Click HERE for pattern difficulty ratings.
Yarn: 2 balls of Patons Pirouette Sparkle Yarn
Hook: US K10/6.50mm
Finished scarf Length: Approximately 70-72 inches.
I start working in the 6th and 5th working spaces, first 2 ch’s are worked through 2 layers of yarn.
Finishing Off..
To finish off I used a heavy duty thread and weaved it through the cut edge of the yarn and tied it off in a few knots to the beg ch, trim off thread.

Great job for your first time! I made a couple last winter but haven’t used mine. My BFF wore hers this weekend, and I was surprised at how good it looked. You have to give it time to grow on you. lol. On a side note: My Blogger Dashboard says that you posted about Mosaic Snow Drop Gloves yesterday. When I click on the title, it says, “Sorry, the page you were looking for in this blog does not exist.” I was hoping to see a pic of it. Maybe you have no idea it didn’t post correctly. Have a wonderful week 🙂

Now that I’ve worked with this yarn it’s not really that bad.. I would work some of these scarfs up for craft fairs, they are quite popular.
There was a post yesterday, I wondered if anyone caught it, I hit publish by mistake, the pattern is not ready yet.

I brought some of this the other day to make that cute hat and diaper cover set you posted on facebook. I only brought 1 colour stuff though because it was cheap and I am scared I wont be able to do it.

I think it just seems scarier then it really is to work with but once you get going I’m sure you will be fine. That hat and diaper cover of my friends is just too cute, most of the people that tested it said it was pretty fun and easy.

Thanks for this CROCHET pattern!!! I knitted one of these scarves for my niece, but I am more comfortable with crochet. I got several balls of yarn to make gifts for Christmas and now I am going to try this crochet pattern for the scarves. 🙂

You are welcome 🙂
Just make sure to check how much length you get with the specific yarn you have. The yarn (Patons pirouette) only has 17 yards so I had to use two balls to get 70″ long scarf. If you use sashay by redheart it has 30 yards per ball and you could make about a 65-70″ long scarf from one ball.
