Newborn Christmas Tree Crochet Hat..

Newborn Christmas Tree Crochet Hat was an idea I wanted to make but this was not the idea in my head. I just went with this and am really pleased with how it turned out.

This tree is made for a newborn photography prop, now I need to find a baby to take pictures of!!

Newborn Christmas Tree Crochet Hat..

Looking at the inside of the hat, you’ll see a spiral, work under the spiral loops 2nd layer in (as pictured below)

Looking at the inside of the hat..

Snow..

I used this Sirdar Snowflake stuff.. It’s similar to bernat pipsqueak which comes in white and will work just the same.

Sirdar Snowflake Yarn

For each layer of the tree using a yarn needle I wove the sidar yarn through the top outside loop as shown below.

Adding snow to tree..

And VOILA.. A tree with a bit of snow…

Thank you for the adorable pattern! I was wondering if we had permission to sell items made by this pattern as long as we linked back to your site? Thanks!

Sure thing, as long as you are using your own pictures and there is some sort of pattern credit that links to the pattern.

Is it possible to make this for a 3 month old? How would you recommend altering the pattern. This is so cute!

I’m not entirely sure but I was thinking maybe adding one more tree layer.. work up rows 1-17 do not switch yarn colour when you finish row 17, rep rnd ‘s 14-17 again and continue on through the rest of the rnds.

I’m really confused- the picture shows five green layers of branches but only 4 in pattern, is that right or am I missing something? no biggy, I’ll just add another row or two since my girl’s over 2 mo. just wondering.. besides that awesome pattern, thanks for sharing…

You are welcome! There are 5 layers but the tree trunk is worked into the last layer so it doesn’t stick out like the rest.

There are 5 green rounds in the picture, but I also only got 4 when I worked it. Is there a round missing or did I do something wrong? Otherwise I looooove this pattern, thank you so much 😀

Yes, but I have 4 green “layers” and your picture has 5 green “layers” plus the trunk. Here is a link to your picture next to my picture. Can you take a look? I think your picture has another round between my row 3&4. Thanks!!

Also, Round #10 count is missing, and I believe round #13 should be 42 not 52. But, I’m not sure.

Oh my goodness, nevermind that last comment! Apparently Motherhood has fried my brain in the basic multiplication area. Sorry about that!

Your picture is kind of dark but it looks like you did it right. The trunk is worked in the edge of the last layer instead of 2 layers in like the rest of the layers so it doesn’t jet out.

will you be coming out with other sizes in this pattern? I have two grandsons that are just under and into toddler sizes, two sons in elementary school and of course MYSELF that wants this hat! *I can’t increase a pattern for the life of me!*
