Crochet Flower Lattice Shawl
This crochet flower lattice shawl is based off of the crochet flower lattice scarf that I recently made a video tutorial for. I really wanted to work it up as a triangle to make a shawl so I worked up 2 rows of flowers and sat and looked at it trying to figure it out.
I tried a few things but nothing was working and I thought I was crazy because when I made the scarf version I had to rip it out multiple times because I kept mistakenly increasing on both sides of my work. How was it that I could do it mistakenly but I couldn’t seem to do it when I was intentionally trying?
I looked at my test rows for 2 days and nothing until last week I made a test sample and found something that worked. I would love to see many of these shawls made, please share your pictures with me on my Facebook WALL.
If you are looking for the square version of the flower lattice it can be found HERE.
UPDATE: This pattern has been translated to German and can be foundΒ HERE.

Yarn: Ice Yarns Magic Baby (1 ball = 100g/360m Β±5%) For the crochet flower lattice shawl in the images I used magic baby’sΒ white-pink-orange-multicolor-lilac-blue-shades. (You could also use Baby Luv yarn with a US G6/4.00mm hook)
Hook: US E4/3.50mm
Size: This crochet flower lattice shawl can be made in many different sizes from child to adult. 1 ball of magic baby will work up a shawl of 19 complete rows of flowers and the side row.Β Instructions are for adult sizing and will require 2 balls of magic baby.
Special Stitches:
~Each row is worked from the left to right and back right to left.
~Each flower has 4 petals, to make it easier to reference I’ve numbered them and the numbers will be used within the pattern, the star on the 3rd petal marks the left joining corner.
Gauge: 1 complete flower = 1.5″ square
Notes:Β To help you work up this crochet flower lattice shawl I’ve included a video tutorial of the first 4 rows of work and the finishing row.
Sl St into the last dc you just worked (as shown below)
**Each row will have a half flower which only has the 2nd & 3rd petal, the other 2 petals will be finished on the last row of work.**

This is beautiful, but how can I get a copy of the pattern? I have tried everything I know, but the site won’t let me do ANYTHING! I did a print preview thinking I would just print it out, but it will 11 pages! Please let me know how to utilize your site. I would really love to make this for our prayer shawl ministry. Thank you

If I am using light (3) yarn what is your suggested hook size? I tried to find out the yarn type for the Baby Luv to no avail. ^.^
DearestDebi says
Magic Baby is very similar to a light #3 so the recommended hook size US E4/3.50mm hook should be fine.
Carrie says
Awesome, thanks much!

It’s a gorgeous pattern and I plan to start making one for an ill friend this weekend. I was able to download the text for it but not the instructional photos…I tried to copy just the photos but that didn’t work. I will be doing most of this commuting and on lunch breaks so I won’t have access to a computer to watch videos. Can you help?
DearestDebi says
If you’d like the image on my page, you can stick the url of the page into http://www.printfriendly.com and it will create a pdf of them for you. π
Leora says
I love this pattern. Is there anyway you could give instructions for a long sleeve sweater or cardigan using this beautiful stitch?
DearestDebi says
Could make the crochet flower lattice pattern and sew it together like my lazy shell sweater shrug
Anna says
Loved the design, but totally impossible to download since the blue button did not respond to any pressure (on my tablet) or mouseclick (on my computer). Pity
DearestDebi says
I’ve tested it on 3 different devices and it is working, please try again.

Beautiful pattern. You are a great teacher. I’m looking forward to making this shawl. More so I am trying to find a pattern I can use to make a mantilla. There are no tutorials in English. I think this pattern would be beautiful. I’ll let you know how it works out. π Thanks again
DearestDebi says
with a thread I think that would be lovely π
Kathy says
Hi Deb, I have been attempting the shawl for 5 days. I can get to Row 4 with no problem. After that it gets twisted and I lose which Ch 7 or left petal to use. I think it’s as I’m coming back that I get confused. Do you have a chart for this pattern? I need to master this one before I start using the thread for the mantilla. Any help would be greatly appreciated π
DearestDebi says
Check out the link to the german translation (Here), she has a full photo tutorial that may be of help. As for twisting you always keep the right side of your work facing you, this can be a little tricky when first starting out but shouldn’t be a problem as you move on.
Kathy says
I am so excited to tell you…I have mastered the pattern π I used the tutorial in full screen and did the start and stop with each stitch. Then I made up a cheat sheet. I love it and can’t wait to make more of your stuff. Thanks again for your patience, you are a great instructor.
DearestDebi says
Awesome! Glad you were able to figure it out π
