Crochet Butterfly Garden Afghan Block
I’ve done it again, the Crochet Butterfly Garden Afghan Block is my 2nd 12″ Afghan Block. My Love Garden Granny Afghan Block was the first.
Over the last year my Love Garden Block was in 2 crochet alongs and something I heard some people saying was that they don’t like open blocks, though a few people still made it because they liked the design. This year I took that into consideration to make a solid block.
I sat here and stared at Sophie’s Universe for about an hour, that afghan is so inspiring! Then I got started right away on my new afghan block. I worked up a flower and then turn it into a square but I kind of wanted to work the butterflies on this afghan block in the round like I did on my Mandala for Marinke. I had written out the directions for the square and it was 4.5″ so I’ve kept the directions and included it in the pattern. To view the 4.5″ block please scroll all the way down to the bottom of this post.

an expired link means it’s been used. If you’re on mobile check your files..
This is beautiful…thank you
Debi, You should know I clicked on the *green *pattern* button on top an it took me to a instant virus alert. I should have hit the *red *Click* I guess. Thought you should know and warn other that come to your site. Love your Mandala .
Avoid the green ones they are not ripe yet, they are ads. I try to block the green download buttons but they come back over time. All my links are pink or blue. ^_^
This is a beautiful square and I’ve just finished mine! Can you tell me how you attached the black yarn for the butterfly bodies? I couldn’t find any notes in the pattern on how you did it. And thank you so much for offering the pattern!
I’ll double check the pattern later today to make sure they are included. There’s a video tutorial here.. http://youtu.be/qTyNrIne-K0
Thank you soooo much! It was late when I finished the square and I may have missed the directions, but the video was perfect.
They were not included so I have added them and updated the pattern. TY 🙂
